TakatalviSnow has fallen off the trees and the once sturdy ice has become mushy yet still strong enough to support a small dweller of the forest. In some places you can see the navy blue water making its way through the surface. You'd think that the spring is just around the corner but then... a snowflake delicately floats from the heavens and then another one. Before you know it, the landscape is filled with tiny ice crystals reflecting the mercilessness of the winter. Spring needs to wait yet another day. This is what in Finland we call takatalvi.
